Repairs are performed on site in our Servers & Service Center. Our technician is available Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
We only repair items purchased from GCB computers. Customers are welcome to call ahead, but all repairs are performed on a first come, first served basis. No appointments are required or offered.
Customers must remain in the shop while any computers are serviced; this significantly enhances our ability to diagnose and problem solve any issues. Drop offs are NOT accepted.
Repair Policies
General Information
All repairs are performed in-house while the customer waits. If additional time is required, appropriate arrangements will be made as needed.
Repair Cost
The customer will be notified of all service costs once our technician has identified the issue and the repairs needed. The customer will be notified before any repairs are made which might cost more than this initial quote.
We will not do any repairs that cost more the computer you want repaired. In general, computers these days are designed to be disposable, making hardware repairs more difficult and costly. For example, the cost of a laptop motherboard, and the time for the technician to test and install the board, will almost certainly cost more than purchasing the same laptop computer again.
HDD Repair/Data Recovery
We do not have the proper technology to do repairs on bad or dead HDD’s. Unfortunately, dead HDD repair is very complicated, and we recommend you consult a specialist if you need to retrieve data from a damaged or dead HDD.
Hinge Repairs
No hinge repairs will be done on laptops. When one or both of the hinges break in a laptop, there is little chance we will be able to repair the laptop in a manner that will last a decent amount of time. Unfortunately once a hinge breaks, there is very little that can be done.
